Oyesigye Special Child Foundation is proud to support families across Uganda with Qigong Sensory Therapy (QST) - a gentle, structured, and parent-delivered sensory intervention designed to help children with autism improve daily functioning and overall wellbeing.
What is QST?
Qigong Sensory Therapy (QST) is a touch-based therapeutic protocol that uses a 12-step massage routine to support children experiencing sensory processing challenges. The therapy empowers parents and caregivers to actively take part in their child’s development using safe and guided techniques.
Benefits of QST
QST has shown positive support in the following areas:
- Sensory processing and responsiveness
- Self-regulation and emotional balance
- Communication and social engagement
- Sleep improvement
- Digestion and overall body awareness
Therapists Across Uganda
We currently have 36 trained Paediatric Qigong Sensory Therapists stationed across Uganda, ready to bring support directly to families in their communities.
Through training and caregiver involvement, QST helps families:
- Unlock Potential
- Build Bridges
- Improve Everyday Life
Who Can Use QST?
This therapy is designed for children with autism and is delivered by parents or caregivers under the guidance of trained sensory therapists.
