School Based Qigong Sensory Therapy; Partner Schools
Oyesigye Special Child Foundation is now training a team of teachers drawn from 20 schools. The schools were proposed by the department of SNE, Ministry of Education and Sports. The schools teach children with autism.

The training consists of online tutorials, face-to-face sessions, and supervised practical sessions at their stations.
The training started in September 2023 and will end in July 2024.

Qigong Sensory Treatment (QST) is an evidence-based, proven, touch-based autism intervention for children that parents perform daily with their child to effectively treat sensory issues and decrease symptoms of autism. QSTI (2014). Results are cumulative and can be apparent in as few as 30 days of treatment.
We adapted in Uganda in 2021 with the support and training by a team from Make Children Better Belgium Google; Uganda Autism Relief Program.

Our first cohort of 16 therapists is across the country training parents.

APPEAL: We feel. Qigong sensory therapy is helping the children, and we wish to intensify it in our country. We are appealing for support from well-wishers.

We will be able to train more therapists, monitor and support those practicing, and raise awareness about autism as a special need. Many confuse it with intellectual impairment or mental sickness, and children have been inappropriately placed.
We will be grateful.
